Colorguard

The Muscle Shoals Middle School Color Guard is a part of the Muscle Shoals Middle School band program. Throughout the season, the students learn routines that are different every year and a routine to the school’s fight song. While the middle school band plays, the students perform their routines at the 7th and 8th grade home football games during halftime of the home middle school football games.

After football season, the students learn another routine to a popular song that they get to vote on. In March, they perform this routine in front of friends and family at a community performance. Following their performance, the award winning Muscle Shoals High School Winterguard performs their show. It is a great experience for the middle school students to experience what they could do if they choose to join the high school team.

Color guard is a demanding activity that requires discipline, focus, and strength. But, most importantly, it builds confidence, fosters teamwork & leadership, cultivates responsibility, develops organizational skills, and creates friendships that will last a lifetime. It’s a fun way to build new skills and express creativity. This activity connects students to a larger student community and allows them to be more engaged and involved within their school.
